ABOUT AMARANTH OIL

Genesis of amaranth oil

Amaranth is known in many parts of our planet as the "discovery of the twentieth century." It gotthe second birth in the seventies of the last century. Its roots originate from the depths of millennia. Other sources say that its birth is dated already in 4-6 millennium BC.

South America is considered the homeland of this amazing plant. Its history is very rich and dramatic.

Even in those ancient times, people used the Amaranth for their own benefit. Amaranth leaves were used for food, but its seeds were considered even "the gold grains of Gods." Ancient Maya, the Incas and Aztecs from babies to adult warriors used it as basic food together with corn and beans. Even at that time people knew and successfully used it in the treatment of many diseases.

For many people it is notnew that Indians have always been considered almost magicians who used the treasures of nature to its full. They believed that in addition to amaranth that strengthens the body and soul, but also when daily used it has a truly wonderful and surprising property –to make people to have almost unlimited capabilities.

Once upon the time the last emperor of the Aztecs took the seeds of amaranth as a tribute. At that time they were valued as gold, people used them as a payment document, the same way like now we have the money.

Moreover, amaranth in those days was considered a sacred plant; the Indians used it in their rituals. This fact was the reason why the plant had been forgotten or lost for many centuries, in contrast to corn and beans which are successfully moved from the New World to the Old World. Conquistadors prohibited to cultivate and grow amaranth andto use it for food. It was not allowedeven to keep its seeds. However, the conquistadors did not take into account that amaranth perfectly "multiplies" by self-seeding. The name itself itgot from the Greek "amarantos", meaning - immortal.

Academician Vavilov N.I. in the thirties of the last century while studying the flora of South America found and was very interested in amaranth, actively promoted it in Russia, but after his arrest in 1940 and the death after 3 years, this wonderful plant was forgotten again.

Amaranth cultivation

Dramatically increased popularity of amaranth is thanks to the American scientists. They found that it belongs to plants with a special type of photosynthesis and this is how they explained its immense productivity. First, in the United States and Canada and then also in India, Australia and China engaged deeply in the study and its implementation in the food industry. Abroad amaranth was appreciated by experts on child nutrition and dieting experts. That is how it got the second birth. Now it is named more and more as "the crop of the present and the future." And it has sense, due to high crop yield, nutritional and dietary properties.
